Some Pretty Cool Poets

Rudy Francisco
Technology: Computer/YouTube
Rudy uses his YouTube channel to get his spoken word poetry out to the world; he puts on shows at poetry slams that he has recorded so that more people can view his work. He also incorporates his spoken word poems with music, doing remix’s of songs with his spoken word.

Matt Ward
Technology: Computer/coding
He uses the computer to create codes or coding to create poetry. He tries to find a meaning between code and poetry to see if they can really relate to each other.

Joyce Carol Oates
Technology: Typewriter
Oates uses the typewriter to write about the violent American life, which sometimes involves racial tension. She has published many stories, books, and poems that have won awards for her unique style.

Johannes Gutenberg
Technology: Printing press/Movable type press

The ways that Gutenberg used the movable press is still unclear today, but he used his invention of the printing press to print book, which includes the first book ever, the Bible.

Archie Randolph Ammons
Technology: Typewriter
Ammons had a certain approach to his writing, especially with the punctuation. He used the typewriter to do certain things, like use the colons to stress linkage between clauses and to postpone closure indefinitely.
