Here is another artist who was featured on Def poetry Jam. He name is Poetri.
He is one of the most funniest poets I've watched, he's poems are touching and deserve a listen; however it's he approach to telling his poems that make him so unique.
In this poem he talks about money, and how money has done so many things to him, but he talks about money as if it were a person, a female to be exact.
This is probably one of the most creative poets I've seen to be honest. Creative, unique and original all in one. I've never seen or heard anything like it. I'm glad you shared this, because this is an amazing watch. This is raw talent, proving poetry can be taken into different outlets. I will be doing more research on Poetri, and maybe even use him in the "5 poets we haven't discussed in class" project!

In the video Poetri used a funny expression made his poetry reading is caused when the attention of the audience. His poetry, funny at the same time with the meaning of satire, I had no idea; the original poetry can also use this technique to show the charm of it.

ReplyDeleteI think the disadvantage of spoken word poetry is the inability to duplicate it.
If I attempted to duplicate this performance, I wouldn't be able to recreate the same atmosphere as was intended.
The typewriter brought a standard to poetry enabling readers to recreate the feel intended by the poet.
I think that the standard of how poetry is "written" is going to have to evolve in order to preserve the current forms of poetry.
I found this to be quite amusing and practical at the same time. He is able to talk as if money is a person and how people cherish money to a point it. Great find!
